Is Strata really free?
Yes. No subscription, no in-app purchases, no ads, and no account to create.
Where are my recordings stored?
In your iCloud Drive, in a Strata folder you can open in the Files app. Projects sync to your other devices and come back automatically on a new phone.
Can I use a USB microphone or audio interface?
Yes. Plug it in and Strata switches to it automatically. Recording follows your interface's sample rate, and input gain is set on the hardware.
Can I hear myself while I record?
Yes, through wired or USB headphones, with the track's effects. Bluetooth headphones add too much delay to monitor through, so they're used for playback only.
How do I get my song out?
Export a stereo mix as WAV (24-bit, 48 kHz) or AAC (256 kbps), or every track as its own stem, wet or dry, to finish in a desktop DAW. Everything goes out through the share sheet.
Does stem separation need the internet?
No. It runs entirely on your device, so your song never leaves it. A full-length song takes a few minutes.
